About

BrightHer Glasgow is a student-led social enterprise team working towards empowering women through skills workshops and community building. We are a project affiliated with Enactus UK society at the University of Glasgow partnering with the Women's Support project and Hemat Gryffee, Glasgow Women's Aid. We sell a collection of candles to fund the women’s groups and further support our partner charities.

Many of our beneficiaries are single mothers, migrants, and rebuilding their lives from challenging circumstances. Our mission is to give them a support network of women facing similar challenges and fostering women's groups where skill building and workshops take place. We believe in the power and importance of women gathering to uplift and support their ambitions and confidence to cope with the unique challenges women face.

The future is female.

Our Goal

Collaborate with organisations to offer a safe and creative space for women.

This year, the project has been adapted while considering new horizons.

BrightHer Candles

It is a symbol for the women that we work with, women who have gone through domestic abuse, social negligence and had been considered a burden.

In the case of the two organisations that we had been working with, we'd supported women from BAME communities who have faced additional challenges including language barriers, paperwork and narrow personal support systems.
